Embedding trauma & violence informed care in the
health system
Our work here is guided by an advisory panel comprised of key stakeholders across government, health services, specialist services, and lived experience experts. This panel will guide how our work is implemented in practice, and how trauma-and-violence informed care can become part of routine care for survivors.
Survivor-led implementation of trauma-and-violence informed care in mental health systems
In this project we will co-design ways to embed trauma-and-violence informed care into the mental health system. Survivors, key staff, and other stakeholders will be brought together to develop pathways and strategies for organisational change.
Working towards a “sense of safety” in primary care
When people don’t feel safe, they can become unwell in multiple ways. Sense of safety refers to a sense of safety that focuses on understanding the whole person and their needs. Safety is central to ensuring service systems provide environments people find accessible and supportive for restorative care. In this project we will test and evaluate the Sense of Safety model in primary care settings.
Enhancing delivery of trauma-and-violence informed practice in primary care
This project will work with the WEAVERs lived experience group and a network of primary care providers to evaluate a model of trauma-and-violence informed care across primary care settings, assessing its benefits for survivors of intimate partner sexual violence.
